Over the years, Jon and Kurtina have worked with hundreds of farm families. Together with our clients we have celebrated the next generation buying their first farm. We have worked with our farm families through economic downturns and challenging refinancing’s and land sales. We have arranged for our farm families to meet with trusted accountants, land appraisers, business valuators to discuss the strategic and tax implications of partnerships, incorporations, and joint ventures. We have represented farmers and farm families through divorces, law suits, and various regulatory challenges. We have guided our farm families through official plan amendments, rezoning, and severances. We have represented farm families on thousands of land acquisitions. We have guided our farm families through challenging family meetings and mediations as we work toward equitable succession plans. We have attended funerals with our farm families and guided them through estate administration and the distribution of farm assets.
We are small town lawyers with lots of local knowledge and an affiliation with one of southwest Ontario’s largest business law firms. Please contact us and we would be pleased to meet with you by phone, in person, or over Zoom.
