I grew up in the rural community of St. Claude, Manitoba. While studying and articling for a small CA firm in Winnipeg, I gained valuable experience in accounting and taxation with a focus on agricultural clients. I obtained my CA designation in 2002. In 2003 I opened my own practice in Notre Dame de Lourdes and St. Claude, Manitoba. My husband owns and operates a trucking company along with two of his siblings. We also farm our property in Notre Dame. We have two active teenagers that keep us busy. I am president of our local Chamber of Commerce and have seated on other Boards such as the Caisse Groupe Financier Ltee, Manitoba Fiddle Association and Societe Franco-Manitobain, as well as participating on various local committees.
My clientele is namely in the small business and agricultural industries. I provide bookkeeping, payroll, accounting and taxation services to various clients. Tax services include personal and corporate tax preparation, rollovers from individuals to corporations, corporate share freezes and reorganizations, to name a few. Farm succession planning has been a growing part of my business in the recent past and will likely be for years to come.
But ultimately the most rewarding part of my business is the close relationships I’ve developed with all of my clients. Being in a rural community has given me the opportunity to develop expertise on the unique accounting and tax needs of the farming industry. I’m still really passionate about helping all of my clients no matter how big or small and look forward to new and continued relations in the future.
