$18TOSI – Tax on Split Income

We will explore the latest legislation in respect of the Tax on Split Income (TOSI) regime. This
section of the income tax act applies to all private corporations and many typical corporate structures will be directly affected by these new rules (effective for the 2018 tax year). We will
go through several examples of how the rules will apply and discuss situations and alternatives where we can plan for our clients to fit into the new rules.
Trista obtained her CA, CPA in 2007 and has been practicing in Saskatoon specializing in
Canadian corporate and personal tax since that time. She practices mainly with owner managed businesses advising them on their tax planning and compliance, transaction structuring, estate, retirement and succession planning and many other aspects of business ownership. Trista
works with privately held business clients in a wide variety of industries.
